Soul tribe, it’s time to gather again. To dance, to sing, to co-create what has become the most unique, magical, family-friendly transformative festival.

As free spirits, we love sharing our gifts and talents from heart to heart, honouring the Earth and her cosmic cycles, valuing our own uniqueness as well as the divine light in others.

Learning together, growing together as well as giving back to the land and one another. Welcome to the next evolution of our ongoing journey!

TRANSFORMATION THROUGH PARTICIPATION

At our family-friendly event, alcohol and drugs are not welcome. Nor are bad attitudes and big egos. We love to dance and make merry, as well as strike a good balance between sound and silence. We co-create a safe space and container for everyone, including those who are sensitive.

Our musicians, DJs and drummers have their glory moments, but not to the detriment of a good night's rest for all. We encourage each participant to make the most of an amazing environment where you can rest, relax and resource yourself from nature... while having loads of fun into the bargain.

Click on the links for more information and join our Facebook and Instagram page. Like and share our event please, we need your support to build our community.

NB! Where on the Garden Route can you glamp or camp at the rates that we offer during peak holiday and summer season? It is a unique opportunity to come out of the city and into pristine nature to completely relax and ground. Relax, reset, recharge, rest and rise ... together!

TICKETING POLICY

We care for the Well-Being Sanctuary environment and are committed to managing the impact of our footprint on the land. We also favour intimacy, quality over quantity, and spaciousness rather than frenetic activity. Thus, ticket sales are limited to a maximum of 600.

The ticket price is the same whether you come for the whole event or intend to attend only for a day. This is to encourage you to immerse yourself in the community experience, and to discourage the nuisance factor of curious spectators dropping in without understanding how we roll.

Importantly, please note: we do not sell tickets at the gate! And we have a NO REFUNDS policy. If, due to unforeseen circumstances you cannot attend the event, you may sell your ticket to a friend – on condition that you notify us in advance of the arrangement.

GLAMPING

Deluxe Glamping will be available - it was sold out last year!

All glamping enquiries: Mariette Carstens, 066 256 8468

HOW WE ROLL

The entire event is a communal gathering bonded by the glue of co-creation. Some of it is pre-conceived, yet much of it arises spontaneously in the moment. Whatever you have to offer, please let us know and we’ll strive to weave you in. For more information, contact Dion Viljoen (072 433 7421) or Mariette Carstens (066 256 8468).

The venue has hot showers and excellent compost toilets. It also has good drinking water. Beyond that, the emphasis is on maximum self-reliance. Take responsibility for feeding and nourishing yourself. In addition, there are a number of food stalls that cater for a wide spectrum of people, with an emphasis on healthy vegetarian and vegan meals. Meal offerings from various food stalls will be announced closer to the time. This will be done via the DISCUSSION thread of our Facebook events page or via our Creative Cradle platform on Telegram.

You'll have to sign an indemnity form and are responsible for your own behaviour thereafter. Thank you for respecting all boundaries.

Also, the event is open to all who have a conscious camping mindset. This means taking full responsibility for your own recycling, taking your rubbish home with you and leaving no trace when you pack up and go.

WHAT IS MAXIMUM SELF-RELIANCE?

Once you've bought a ticket, you'll receive a detailed list via e-mail of suggestions on what to bring. Feel free to ask questions if need be. In general though, please arrive with a can-do attitude and EVERYTHING ELSE for a comfortable camping experience, plus additional food to share for the communal Summer Solstice Rainbow Meal feast.

WHAT NOT TO BRING (AND DO!)

No pets! And no alcohol, drugs or psychedelic stimulants.

No open fires where you camp (as this is a high fire-risk venue). There are designated fire circles and a cooking area where cooking fires may be made. You may also cook your own food using a gas burner at your campsite.

Right of admission reserved, so respect this boundary.

What our friends say

Such an incredible wholesome space and place to unwind, rewind and refuel. Mariette and her team have created an incredible natural sanctuary that simply lets you exhale all the stresses that come with living and inhale much needed rest and restore. It is transformative in the most gentle of ways. The Well-Being Sanctuary is just that - a sanctuary to restore our senses and return to wellbeing. My advice if you are reading this - go!!!
Well Being sanctuary is exactly what the name describes, A sanctuary of sacred serenity and abundant simplicity where Mother Nature gifts a beautiful balance of Earth, water, fire and air. My soul is nourished, revived and inspired after being there every time.
What a piece of paradise. Beautiful nature with amazing energy. Loved my stay here and looking very much forward to the next visit.
The Wellbeing Sanctuary is a must visit for relaxing tranquility and restorative soul nourishment. One is immediately struck by the beautiful nature scenes, the abundant birds and their peaceful sounds - the fish eagle during the day, and the delicate nightjar in the evenings, their sounds remind one where you are, and forces your mind to acknowledge the peaceful setting with a soft smile and grateful heart. All you have to do is surrender to the beautiful surroundings and choose to experience all that the Wellbeing Sanctuary has to offer. I have been fortunate enough to visit the Wellbeing Sanctuary for a couple of festivals and retreats. Each time I feel the gratitude from my inner being for the restorative and relaxing medicine the land and its activities has to offer. From the most beautiful conversations to joyful fire dancing and energetic drumming, or a peaceful walk among the many forest and garden pathways, or even a swim in the beautiful lake - you are sure to feel yourself restored and energised to continue on your life path. Do yourself a favour, and visit the Wellbeing Sanctuary!
Amazing place to relax if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track, peaceful , quiet and beautiful. Mariette is a most generous and responsive host - great communication and so informative about the land and all its magic. What really adds to your whole experience is that the it centres around sustainability with a fantastic glamping experience. The tents are spacious and the beds are super comfortable - had such a good sleep after all the day’s activities: Beautiful walk along the banks of the lagoon followed by the longest swim. Tip - try out all of the beaches - each has its own unique character!
Wow what a magical place! I’ve been here for a number of festival and even a wedding. It’s out of this world! The setting of the wedding ceremony overlooking the vast lake with the sun setting in the distance over the lake was magical and so romantic. It’s a fabulous setting for festivals too or even just for a break away week or weekend on your own or with family and friends. We loved swimming in the warm waters of the beautiful lake. The forest walks were enchanting! The facilities are great and the service of the team there is excellent, responsive and friendly. I really recommend this place, it’s a hidden gem
Love this place. So very special! The serene beauty. I love the ethos and respect for the land. Thank you Mariette for being such a fantastic host.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Well-Being Sanctuary and it exceeded all of my expectations. The glamping tents were luxurious and secluded, offering the perfect escape from the city. The views of the hills, forest, and lake were absolutely breathtaking, and the natural recreational activities available on the property were a highlight of my trip. I particularly enjoyed exploring the indigenous forest and spotting small buck tracks and other animals. The Sanctuary is also home to a wide variety of birds, including the beautiful Knysna Loeries. The lake provided the perfect spot for swimming and lounging on one of the four beaches. I also appreciated the option to bring my own kayak or stand-up paddle board to explore the lake at my leisure. The location of the sanctuary is also ideal, with easy access to the nearby towns of George and Knysna, as well as the Wild Oats Saturday Farmer's Market. The organic veggie garden and natural beekeeping walks were a nice bonus, and the clear shared hot showers were a welcome relief after a day of activities. Overall, I would highly recommend the Well-Being Sanctuary to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. The staff was friendly and the glamping was very comfortable and beautiful. I can't wait to return!
A most magical destination, filled with loving and supportive facilitators. The combination of land, water, trees, energy and safe space of love and compassion. I cannot recommend this location enough, please do yourself a favour and visit the Well-Being Sanctuary.
Wonderful serene place to get away from it all and connect with nature - and yourself. Glamping accommodation that is clean and comfortable and caters for every need. Off the beaten path but close enough to civilisation. Beautiful walking paths through indigenous forest, breathtaking views and insane sunsets. Ideal for nature lovers and bird watchers. Enjoying fireside chats, SUP’ing on the river/ lake, horse riding and reading. Highly recommended!
