• The Well-Being Sanctuary is a 2km lake front retreat and glamping Space on Swartvlei, 20km from Sedgefield, in the heart of the Garden Route.

• See our written directions and Lake Avenue location pin to find us. It’s a beautiful drive.

• The road can be slippery when it’s raining. Travel safe.

• You can loose your mind and come back to your senses.

• You will be immersed in natural beauty. We have retired horses that you can spend time with. Swim in the warm waters of the lake, sunbath on our beautiful lake beaches, glamp in absolute style, luxury and comfort. Take beautiful hot showers.

• Prepare you meals at our bush kitchen. Tell fire side stories and look at the stars from our fire pits. Meditate in our splendid organic garden ( order fresh garden veggies and greens)

• Return to Nature and your true nature. Family friendly and safe.

• Attend magical festivals or retreats. Birdwatching is a must and so is our indigenous forest walks on the unspoiled lake embankment.

• We have a few Goddess Women’s Retreats every year and hold space for various conscious celebrations like milestone birthday parties or weddings, anniversaries and team building events.

• Well-Being Sanctuary is the home for numerous festivals like Gatherin Eden Summer Solstice, or Thrive.

• Glamping is always available and sought after during long weekends and holidays as we offer a space away from the chaos, noise, hustle and bustle of other holiday sites, venues and towns.

• Well-Being is a Sanctuary for ALL- it is perfect for self-held retreats or writer’s retreats too.

• It is ideal for a romantic getaway in Nature. You can express your desires here and we will hold the space for your dreams to come true.

It is completely safe at the Well-Being Sanctuary. There is no crime in this area. The lake is also safe. Children have to be supervised by their parents, but the space itself is completely safe and tranquil.

We unfortunately do not allow pets. We have a lot of wild deer moving on the land and the area is protected.

Yes the reception is strong on the land and you will be able to access your data. If you require Wi-Fi it is available on request in an area away from the glamping zone. We encourage our visitors to detox from social media, noise and distraction. We also like to support you in tying up loose ends or attending an important meeting on line, so you are able to let go and surrender while you are here with us.

• The best time of the year is Spring and Summer, to Autumn. September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April and even May… is great for Glamping.

• The winter is best for day visits, walks and adventure when it’s beautiful and sunny.

• The Garden Route has incredible mild weather most of the year. In June to August the nights are cold.

• You cannot go wrong by coming to the Well-Being Sanctuary. It’s a very special place.

• Swartvlei is the biggest lake in the heart of the Garden Route.

• It’s an unusual, sacred space. It is an opportunity to step away from your daily life, programs and patterns.

• Immerse yourself in Pristine Nature and the elements of pure fire, water, earth and air.

• The GPS co-ordinates provided below will take you to the top of Lake Avenue. Lake Avenue is not an official road on Google maps.

• Look out for the Well-Being Sanctuary Sign on Hoogekraal road ( when you come from Wilderness or Knysna).

FROM THE SEDGEFIELD SIDE

Once you pass through Sedgefield on the N2, take the Karatara turnoff to your left.

( If you are coming from Knysna on the N2 you will turn right onto the Karatara turnoff.)

Travel about 4km to the first turn to the left. (Also Karatara). Pass over a low water bridge, travel about 3km to the first left turn. It is a dirt road with a sign saying Hoogekraal/George.

Follow the road over the river and up the pass for about 5km to the first left turn.

The Signs say Well-Being Sanctuary, Wilderness Forest Estate, Fynbosvlei. Turn left into Lake Ave.

From the top of Lake Ave just keep following the blue and white WBS arrows. Do not follow the GPS and do not turn off Lake Avenue.

At the bottom of the road you will see a face brick entrance with a wooden gate, turn left and you will see a large wooden gate with the sign … LEAVE NO TRACE.

You have arrived.

Once through the gate, travel along the grass road and park your vehicle in the designated area. Voila! Enjoy a blissful time!

FROM THE WILDERNESS SIDE

Once you pass through Wilderness on the N2, take the turn off to Hoekwil, to the left if you are coming from George.

Travel for approximately 21km and take the right turn onto the dirt road to Ruigtevlei.

Travel approximately 3 km along the dirt road and turn right into Lake Ave (at this juncture you will see a few signs, including Wilderness Forest Estate, Fynbosvlei, Tomorrowland & Well-Being Sanctuary). Turn right into Lake Ave.

From the top of Lake Ave just keep following the blue and white WBS arrows all the way straight down. Do not follow Google maps or turn off the road.

At the bottom of the road you will see a face brick entrance with a wooden gate, turn left and you will see a large wooden gate with the sign LEAVE NO TRACE. You have arrived.
